Hand in the Attic has been kicking around in one form or another, with various lovely people helping along the way, since approximately 2005. Dark songs, ambiguous lyrics, and pretty melodies drive the train. Trumpets and glockenspiels are preferred; saxophones are not. HITA is often compared to Neutral Milk Hotel, Wilco, Elliott Smith, or Midlake. HITA’s live shows are notably diverse, from whispered love songs to hard driven rock songs. HITA is currently playing shows in the Seattle area. Some previous venues we've played include The Tractor Tavern, Columbia City Theater, The Crocodile Cafe back bar, The Conor Byrne, and NorthWest Folk Life Festival.
